White Tara/Dolkar is handmade statue in Nepal by Nepalese Shakya artist. Generally, white tara is portrayed in a stance of agile scrutinizing ease with the two legs raised and crossed, showing a majestic class and peacefulness like found in this White Tara Copper Statue. Her right hand is broadened descending, palm open, with thumb and forefinger contacting. This hand position is known as Varada Mudra, or the token of giving wishes and security. Her left hand, raised to bear stature with fingers broadened and palm turned outward, is in the token of allowing asylum and liberating from fears (Abhaya Mudra).
Every one of her hands likewise holds the stem of a lovely lotus blossom that floats over her shoulder as an image of her brilliant immaculateness and power. A particular trait of White Tara, displayed in this portrayal, is her seven eyes. She has the two common eyes in addition to one in the focal point of her brow and one in every one of her hands and feet. These eyes show that she sees all the affliction and weeps for help in the universe and represent her heavenly all-knowingness.
Protecting the Face
As the face is painted it is highly recommended that the face of the statue is to be greatly taken care of as it requires a very professional and skilled face artist to repair the face of dirt and damages. Commonly to protect it from damage the statue with painted face is placed under a glass box and it is always covered with a cotton face mask if it has to be moved
